Le Clos Saint-Sauveur
Maison d’Hôtes – Luxury Guest House
The Guest House, a historic residence from the 19th century, nestled into the medieval city of Bellême, invites you to enjoy an inspiring change of scene.
Le Clos Saint-Sauveur, is a place of smiles and conviviality but also one of discretion and quiet luxury. Hidden in the heart of Bellême it offers 3 private bedrooms together with communal spaces combining luxurious comfort with privacy or conviviality. The walled garden along the ancient rampart invites deep relaxation where moments of wellbeing are shared and memories created.
The grand stylist of haut couture Gabrielle Chanel, who needs no introduction, was also a decorator of interiors which we witness in her apartment in rue Cambon and in the Ritz Hotel in Place Vendome, Paris. You will find in the room “Gabrielle” her characteristic preference for a mix of gilded wood, mirrors, cristal and white flowers. Pure pleasure to stay in this light filled room with an uninterrupted and memorable view to the church of Saint-Sauveur.
This room is a homage to Madeleine Castaing, the Queen of Decor. Her one of a kind whimsical personality is the origin of a style which remains a point of reference in the world of contemporary Interior Design. An atmosphere truly inspired by Madeleine Castaing where we combine, Napoléon III, English Regency, Directoire period furniture and Biedermeier. For Madeleine Castaing, the furniture is in mahogany or even in bamboo. She often brought together lime green and sky blue which is refered to as Castaing blue or green. All the windows of this charming room have a view of the garden.
Monsieur, is the respectful term used by the couturiers of the Atelier of Yves Saint-Laurent to address the Head of the House of Haute Couture. This room is an invitation to travel, the ideal joining of the West and the Orient tracing the path of Saint-Laurent in Morocco. Adding to the charm, one of the two Medieval towers of the ramparts of the Porte Saint-Sauveur exists within the walls of the room. This unusual architectural feature, together with the warm choice of colours and the view over the garden will seduce even the most demanding of travellers.
